Ask your archive a question and get the answer with the source tape and timestamp attached.
Explore’s chat answers from your own transcripts. It runs on an EU-hosted model, and it draws only on the context you chose: your whole archive, a project or a single tape.
What you can ask
- Questions. “Do other interviews support or contradict this?”
- Quotes. “Which quotes are most relevant for the piece?”
- Headlines. “Give me three headline suggestions.”
- Summaries. “Summarize my latest tape” or “What are the key themes?”
- Actions. “Create a project with all tapes on environmental politics.” Explore creates the Project and tells you how many tapes it holds.
How to use chat
- Type your question, or pick one of the suggested prompts.
- Read the answer. Each statement shows the tape and timestamp it came from.
- Open a source to check the passage in the transcript before you use it.
Tips for better answers
- Be specific: name the person, subject or period you care about.
- Narrow the context to a project when the question concerns one piece of work.
- Ask a follow-up to see what happened between two statements.
- Verify quotes and attributions against the recording. AI can misread or summarize inaccurately.
- GLM model selection works best for multilingual archives.
