Where your data lives, who can see it, and what Explore does with it.
- Explore lives up to all of Good Tape’s standards on privacy and security, with no new sub-processors. This also means if you already have a Data Processing Agreement you will be covered by the pre-existing one.
- Your recordings and transcripts are never used to train AI models, by Good Tape or by its sub-processors. Your data is used only to deliver your own transcription and Explore results, and Explore’s chat runs on an EU-hosted model.
- Everything is stored only on servers inside the EU. Every sub-processor is EU-based and listed on the sub-processors page, and your files and transcripts are encrypted with TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest.
- Your transcripts are private to you until you share them. Not even a team owner can read unshared transcripts, and you can revoke a share at any time. No one at Good Tape can access your files without your permission, and every access event is logged.
- When you delete a file, it is removed from all systems, including backups, within 12 hours.
- Good Tape holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification (valid 30 January 2026 to 29 January 2029) and is GDPR compliant. Every customer can get a signed Data Processing Agreement.

If you stop using Good Tape
You can export your transcripts before the account closes. There is no lock-in period on the text you produced, and no minimum contract length on the standard plans.
