Turn on Explore, let it index your archive, and ask your first question.
Explore is included in the free trial, as an add-on on Pro, and in Business. It does not start empty, it indexes everything already in your account, including files you uploaded years ago.
How to get started
- Make sure you’re logged into your Good Tape account.
- Check that your plan includes Explore (free trial, Pro with the Explore add-on, or Business).
- Switch Explore on. This can be done by accessing the dashboard on the top left, followed by the pink explore button at the top right in the dashboard.
- Wait while Explore indexes your existing tapes. No extra usage is charged for indexing files that are already in your account.
- Open any transcript and look for Explore in the top right of the toolbar. Relevant passages from your other tapes appear as insights on the right-hand side of your transcript.
- Ask your first question in the chat, for example “Do other interviews support or contradict this?”
Choose what Explore reads
You can point Explore at your whole archive, a single project or one tape. Use a project when a piece of work has to stay separate from the rest.
Good to know
- Every answer and insight shows the tape and timestamp it came from, so you can open the source and check the claim.
- Nothing needs tagging or maintaining. Keep recording the way you already do, and each new tape widens what the next question can reach.
